Radon

Radon comes from the breakdown of uranium in the earth's crust. It's an odorless, colorless, radioactive gas and can be found virtually everywhere.  The health risk of radon gas is lung cancer. The EPA has set a limit of 4 pCi/l and recommends treatment at that level and above.

The primary way to treat radon is through a process called sub slab depressurization. What that involves is cutting a 4" hole into your basement floor, inserting a 3" plastic pipe that is run up from the floor to the ceiling of the basement and then outside the home. There and encapsulated fan is attached and piping (that looks like a gutter downspout) is run above the roofline. The fan creates a vacuum underneath the floor and draws the radon outside and vents it into the atmosphere where it dissipates and breaks down harmlessly.

With our system you receive a manometer which is a meter that lets you know that the system is creating sufficient vacuum and thus working. You also receive a free radon test (kit) that you can conduct at anytime and have the results mailed directly to you.  And for added peace of mind, we give you a FIVE YEAR warrantee that the system will perform as specified.
