Radon Testing

There are several methods for testing radon in air.  Three of the most common are carbon canister, scintillation, and e-perm.  All are accurate and can obtain results by leaving the test media exposed for a few days and then sending them to a lab for analysis.

Long term radon tests are available for establishing averages but are not used unless long term analysis is required.  There are also electronic tests that can be done to obtain readings from specific areas in the short term.  These are also not used unless a specific need arises such as determining a hot spot from a given area.

Whatever test method you use be sure to follow directions, leave the test apparatus exposed for the recommended time, and mail it to the lab within the specified limit.  Alliance WTC provides test kits as well as in the field testing for radon.  Contact us for more information.
